Data sources
LLMRateRadar uses public and permitted sources. OpenRouter catalog data is fetched by script for route-level metadata; direct provider prices are manually checked from official provider pages. Sources can change, lag, or contain errors.
Direct API vs OpenRouter
The same underlying model can have different prices, limits, and terms through a direct provider API, OpenRouter, or another route. Records are therefore kept separate by model_id + route.
Cost formula
Calculators multiply input/output token volumes by per-1M-token prices; the budget tool reverses that math to estimate capacity. Cache, batch, and context assumptions apply only to the scenario shown in the interface. Missing prices are never treated as free.
Token estimates
The prompt token calculator uses GPT-like tokenization; unsupported cases may fall back to a character-based approximation. Actual tokenization can differ by model, provider, API version, and system messages.
